Job summary

Horizon House is seeking a friendly Garage Attendant/Parking Valet to welcome residents, guests, and staff, manage the garage ticketing system, and safely park and retrieve vehicles.

This on-call role requires a valid Washington driver license, at least one year of related experience, basic computer skills, and a customer-service mindset. Unionized pay scale starts at $23.74/hour with up to $26.65/hour plus shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State driver license in good standing; driving history clear.
• At least 1 year of experience in valet/parking attendant or customer service.
• Experience operating manual and automatic transmissions preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests professionally per Horizon House values.
• Safely park and retrieve vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the garage and valet office.
• Ensure vehicles are handled with care and charged accurately for parking.
• Assist with loading/unloading resident and guest vehicles.
• Provide elevator assistance as needed.

$23.74 to $26.65 per hour (based on union scale)

Shift Differentials (to be added to base rate of pay):

• Evening Shift: +$1.00 per hour


• Night Shift: +$1.75 per hour

Horizon House is actively seeking an enthusiastic and courteous Garage Attendant/Parking Valet. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service in welcoming and assisting our residents, guests, and employees at Horizon House. As a Garage Attendant/Parking valet, your primary focus will be greeting patrons of the garage, managing the ticketing system, safely operating vehicles, achieving goals through teamwork, and helping create an enjoyable work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm and professional demeanor in accordance with Horizon House core values.


• Safely park and retrieve vehicles.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the garage and valet office.


• Ensure all vehicles are handled with care and respect.


• Issue valet tickets for vehicles belonging to guests, visitors and employees.


• Ensure that all who park in the garage are charged accurately.


• Assist with loading and unloading resident and guest vehicles.


• Provide assistance to the elevators if necessary and as requested by residents, guests or management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• A valid Washington State driver license in good standing; driving history clear of major moving violations and accidents


• One year of experience in a valet/parking attendant and/or customer service position or a related field


• Experience operating both a manual and automatic transmission vehicle is preferred.


• Basic computer knowledge

Knowledge/Leadership/Collaboration

• Working knowledge of Outlook; familiar with basic computer knowledge required.


• A passion for working with elders; Foster a friendly and inviting environment that establishes trust and rapport with staff.
