Job summary

MBS Professional Staffing is seeking a control software engineer to design and maintain Siemens-based CNC/PLC code for gantry robotics. The role involves integrating 840D and STEP 7, troubleshooting electro-mechanical and software issues, and supporting HMI/communication protocols on Windows and RTOS environments.

The ideal candidate has BS in engineering or CS, 5+ years in controls, strong communication, and eligibility to work in the U.S. Relocation is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Electrical or Computer) or Computer Science.
• Relevant years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Preferably 5 or more years of relevant controls and software programming experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent residency status (green card).
• Travel will be less than 10%.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Control Software for gantry and robotic applications.
• Target code to run on Siemens Operate platforms.
• 840D using STEP 7.
• Write and maintain code in VB.NET WinForms, C, C++, and many IEC 61131-3 PLC languages.
• Target code to run on Windows and Intime RTOS.
• Manage source controlled with Mercurial and Git.
• Plans for C# and/or Indusoft development for future HMIs.
• Utilize OPC-UA, Access Databases, and Modbus-TCP on various applications.
• Focus on continuously improving and optimizing system performance and increasing control system functionality and capability.
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical and software issues.
