Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking full-time GameChanger Coaches to bridge school communities with the GameChanger program. The role focuses on coordination, data collection, and sustaining prevention efforts within their school sites.

Coaches will work with GameChanger Specialists to implement activities, lead GAP meetings, and train staff and students in prevention strategies, aiming to reduce substance use and promote healthy school environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of experience within the school community
• Demonstrated experience as a student or youth group leader in clubs, churches, or at school
• Current Driver’s license
• Endorsement from school leadership (principal)
• State-specific prevention specialist licensure or other current professional license (e.g., alcohol and drug counseling, social work, psychology)
• Master’s degree in education, public health, counseling or related field

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between their school community and the GameChanger organization and serve as the main contact between their school administration, faculty, students, and their assigned GameChanger Specialist
• Collaborate with GameChanger Specialists to create, execute, and maintain the program in their respective schools
• Implement a monthly Prevention Activity from the National Awareness Month Calendar and discuss data in GAP Meetings
• Attend adult trainings and quarterly PLCs with other GameChanger school staff
• Support data collection efforts including surveys and pre/post tests and ongoing reporting within the school
• Build and sustain a nonuse Peer Leadership group at middle and high school levels and train peer leaders
