AZZ Inc. in the United States invites applications for a production worker at our Winsted facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help handle and clean material through the galvanizing process to meet customer commitments.

Duties include tying material onto racks, preparing for pickling tanks, inspecting equipment, and learning to rack and clean materials as directed. This is an entry-level role with hands-on training in galvanizing operations.

Responsibilities

• Tie or assist with tying material onto racks for safe movement through galvanizing process.
• Use wire to tie material to racks and prepare for pickling tanks.
• Use rope to lift and prepare material for pickling tanks.
• Operate and visually inspect equipment (forklifts, cranes, tooling) prior to use.
• Learn to rack a variety of materials by assisting others.
• Rack, unrack or clean material as directed.
• May learn to use a torch to dry materials before hot dipping.
• May clean material using grinder, file, or brush as specified by customer.
• Inspect material for sags, runs, drips, bare spots and report to management.
