Job summary

Millennium Galvanizing is seeking a Kettle Crane Operator I to operate overhead cranes (Demag 5/10 ton) and process galvanized steel with safety and precision. You will monitor loads, inspect equipment, and work to maintain high-quality finishes across galvanized products.

The role requires experience with overhead cranes, a strong safety record, and reliable attendance in a busy galvanizing facility. Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Shows advanced capabilities in operating overhead crane equipment.
• One year of experience operating overhead cranes in a galvanizing facility or equivalent outside experience is preferred.
• Holds an excellent safety record.
• Strong work ethic; goes beyond in all aspects of the job.
• Motivates fellow employees and promotes company goals.
• Shows ability to train individuals in Kettle Crane Operator I and Kettle Crane Operator II positions.
• Regular, reliable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead bridge crane (Demag 5/10 ton) to lift and move steel products.
• Monitor load hookup and ensure load safety.
• Inspect and monitor cranes and chains; check thickness with gauges.
• Control crane speed and direction via pedals and switches.
• Keep cranes clean and maintained; report defects.
• Inspect materials for rust, damage, bends, or missing welds.
• Wear PPE and follow safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe, productive work environment.
