Job summary

Valmont is seeking a Bridge Crane Operator in the Global Coatings Division to safely operate a 15-ton overhead bridge crane in the galvanizing process. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality finishes while following strict safety protocols.

The ideal candidate will monitor tanks, inspect crane components, and work in a high-volume manufacturing environment with attention to detail and strong teamwork. Competitive hourly compensation is offered for 2nd shift work.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
• Good communication with coworkers.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to smoke/particulates.

Responsibilities

• Operate the galvanizing department's 15-ton overhead bridge crane safely and efficiently.
• Monitor steel products in tanks and zinc baths to ensure high-quality finish.
• Inspect hooks and chains; use gauges to check thickness of crane setup.
• Wear required PPE and follow safety regulations; maintain a safe working environment.
• Operate radio-controlled crane during galvanizing process.
