Job summary

Amentum seeks a Galley Warehouse Specialist to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. This on-site role oversees all food warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics support for assigned programs.

You will supervise personnel, ensure compliance, and maintain data integrity across inventory records. Requires six years in supply/logistics, passport for international travel, and ability to obtain visas and credentials for deployment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in supply, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate daily Class I warehouse and logistics operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and established logistics procedures.
• Maintain accountability and integrity of government and company property through accurate inventory management and recordkeeping.
• Monitor food inventory using FIFO procedures to minimize waste and reduce losses due to expiration.
• Supervise inventory control and logistics personnel, including scheduling work assignments and monitoring performance.
• Conduct inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability.
• Oversee property transfers, adjustments, receipts, issues, turn ins, and inventory documentation.
• Maintain and update inventory records and logistics databases for reporting and data integrity.
• Research and analyze complex supply transactions, inventory discrepancies, and accountability issues.
• Assist property custodians and hand receipt holders with documentation for lost, damaged or destroyed property.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with the Logistics Manager.
• Prepare reports and respond to customer inquiries regarding inventory, supply status, and logistics operations.
• Develop, implement, and revise local supply procedures, policies, and operational guidance as directed.
• Ensure proper receipt, storage, issue, and document control of accountable supplies and equipment.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to inventory control specialists and warehouse personnel.
• Monitor employee productivity, quality of work, and compliance with established procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment per safety standards.

The Galley Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all food warehouse operations to ensure logistics support for assigned programs. This position manages inventory, accountability, food storage and distribution, personnel supervision, and compliance with company policies.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
