Job summary

thekineticgroup seeks a Gage Coordinator at our Anoka location to order, deliver, and oversee new and existing gages, ensuring proper calibration and record-keeping. The role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and involves building, calibrating, repairing, and documenting gage activity across multiple plant areas.

You will coordinate with machine shop and engineers, utilize PC-based records, and adhere to safety guidelines while supporting efficient production and quality goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with current inspection/ballistic test methods and equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication/documentation skills.
• Ability to utilize computer hardware and software.
• Blueprint reading skills required.
• Good problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• No disciplinary action in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage new gage orders by coordinating with supervisors or engineering staff.
• Ensure changes are made to existing gages reflecting approved product/inspection changes.
• Build new gages from parts received from Machine Shop.
• Clean and calibrate all gages and weight scales used in Shotshell, Rimfire, Centerfire, and Primer Plant.
• Repair or rebuild damaged or worn gages.
• Order spare parts for gage repair and work with engineers on gage design.
• Maintain gage calibration, cleaning and repair records in the PC system.
• Coordinate with other departments to complete work within guidelines.
• Observe and enforce safety and housekeeping rules; address unsafe conditions.
• Inspect tools and machine parts against blueprints using inspection instruments.
