Job summary

Specialty1 Partners, Houston, TX, is seeking an Internal Accounting Auditor to support accounting and financial reporting functions under U.S. GAAP. You will research complex guidance, prepare technical memoranda, and assist with financial statements and footnotes.

The role requires strong research and writing skills, with 4–7+ years of accounting experience. Public firm experience is preferred, and CPA is strongly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
• CPA certification required or actively pursuing.
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience researching and applying U.S. GAAP.
• Public accounting experience with a national or regional CPA firm preferred.
• Healthcare, multi-location, or private equity experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with SVP of Accounting, supporting during and after audits.
• Review journal entries at the corporate level for GAAP adherence.
• Research and analyze complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP.
• Evaluate implications of significant and non-routine transactions.
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda with analyses and guidance.
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and impacts.
• Assist in implementing new accounting standards and disclosures.
• Serve as a technical accounting resource for multiple teams.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support footnote disclosures and supporting schedules.
• Ensure reporting complies with U.S. GAAP and policies.
