Job summary

VT Industries is seeking a capable department supervisor to coordinate team rotations, ensure safe and efficient operation, and drive continuous improvement on the production floor. The role requires strong communication, mechanical aptitude, and hands-on leadership to support daily workflows and quality outcomes.

You will conduct daily briefings, document handoffs, and participate in standard work audits while promoting safety policies and adherence to company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work rotation and break schedules for department team members.
• Ensure equipment is safe and in working order, with troubleshooting as needed.
• Process necessary paperwork.
• Drive quality, safety, productivity, and continuous improvement within the department.
• Promote 5S and Lean principles across operations.
• Hold daily team meetings at shift start in supervisor absence.
• Complete daily handoff with counterpart (written and verbal).
• Assist in GEMBA walks when the Department Manager is away.
• Handle other management tasks as delegated by the Department Manager.
• Complete charts and MDI boards when required.
• Understand and drive flow monitor performance.
• Conduct daily Standard Work audits with the supervisor.
• Fulfill all other duties as assigned by Department Manager.

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate work rotation and break schedules for department team members
• Ensure equipment is in safe and working order at all times including any necessary troubleshooting
• Process necessary paperwork
• Drive quality, safety, productivity, and continuous improvement within the department
• Promote 5S and Lean to the fullest extent
• Hold daily team meetings at the start of shift in absence of supervisor
• Complete a daily written and verbal handoff with counterpart
• Assist in GEMBA walks in Department Manager’s absence
• Other management tasks in Department Manager’s absence
• Complete charts and MDI boards when needed
• Understand and drive flow monitor
• Conduct daily Standard Work audits with the supervisor
• All other duties as assigned by Department Manager

Position Requirements

• Complete all LMS training as assigned
