Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a G.A.P. Manager to coordinate and verify activities from the beginning of the move/depletion process through the disinfect/shavings process. This role involves managing a G.A.P.

Team, budgeting, and ensuring biosafety as part of daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a BS in a related field, at least two years of poultry experience, budgeting experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• BS in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Two years of poultry experience preferred.
• Budgeting and budget management experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends.
• Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Team oriented.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Managing and scheduling priorities for the G.A.P. Team Specialists.
• Preparing budgets and achieving budget targets.
• Coordinating and verifying all activities from the move/depletion through the disinfect/shavings process.
• Fostering and strengthening contract grower relations.
• Fostering and strengthening relationships with other departments through daily communications and interactions.
• Clearly communicating deadlines to the necessary people involved.
• Ensuring timelines are met and deadlines are respected.
• Performing daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Daily local travel within the regional production base.
• Bio-security and health & safety are major responsibilities.
• May perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
