Vaughn Next Century Learning Center in Pacoima, CA, seeks a Part Time Expanded Learning - After School Assistant Site Coordinator for the Pandaland Site (TK–1st grade). You will supervise students, assist staff, and help run enrichment activities.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of supervisory experience in afterschool or school settings, strong communication skills, and Spanish bilingual is preferred. Pay is $25.50/hour, 29 hours/week, 222 days/year, with sick time accrual.

JOB TITLE: Expanded Learning - After School Assistant Site CoordinatorSTATUS: Part Time (Non-Exempt)REPORTS TO: Site Coordinator and After School Program CoordinatorCAMPUS: Pandaland Site (TK - 1st grade)ORGANIZATION OVERVIEWVaughn Next Century Learning Center (“Vaughn”), located in Pacoima, is a large urban public school within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Since the early 1970s, low student achievement had been a pattern. In 1993, tired of being helpless and hopeless, Vaughn became the first conversion charter school in the nation and was authorized by LAUSD. The charter was renewed most recently in 2018. Vaughn has over 25 years of experience as a successful independent charter school serving the district’s low-income students. This previously failing elementary public school is now a full-service, community-based, K-12th charter school that assures all students are college/career ready, digitally literate, and globally competent.POSITION OVERVIEWThe After School Assistant Site Coordinator supports the daily operations of the After School and Summer Program by supervising students, assisting staff, and ensuring program activities run smoothly. This role involves reviewing and developing lesson plans, maintaining attendance records, and implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) strategies to create a safe and engaging environment. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as well as professionalism in interactions with parents, students, and staff.
