Job summary

QUANTEAM - North America (RAINBOW PARTNERS Group) is seeking a Senior Java Architect to design and deliver a new FX Back Office Book of Record platform. You will lead architecture, implement scalable Java services, and guide engineers working across post-trade processes within a major global markets tech setting.

You will stay hands-on in the codebase while driving standards for transaction integrity, idempotency, and recoverability, collaborating closely with FX Ops, BAs, and Product Owners to

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in Capital Markets.
• Expert-level Java with deep experience in distributed, transaction-processing systems.
• Proven architect/build experience on a proprietary/in-house FX post-trade or BoR platform.
• Strong understanding of FX lifecycles (Spot, Forward, Swap, NDF).
• Experience with post-trade processes: confirmations, settlements, payments, netting, reconciliation.
• Exposure to CLS settlement or FX payment infrastructure; SWIFT or related messaging standards.
• Strong relational database/transactional data modeling skills.
• Comfortable collaborating with FX Ops, BAs, and Product Owners while maintaining hands-on coding.

Responsibilities

• Define target architecture for a new FX Back Office / BoR platform.
• Design scalable, auditable Java services covering full FX lifecycle.
• Build SOA/microservices with event-driven workflows (Kafka or equivalent).
• Integrate with front-office, market data, payments, SWIFT, CLS, GL, risk, and reporting.
• Stay hands-on in code while setting architectural standards for integrity and recovery.
• Mentor senior engineers and drive engineering best practices.
