Job summary

Alaska Communications is seeking a Project Manager for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) to drive mobilization, deployment, and execution of broadband expansion initiatives. This role coordinates across Network Planning, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, Product and Commercial teams to ensure successful delivery of FWA deployments and BEAD-funded projects.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of project management experience leading complex cross‑functional programs or infrastructure deployment projects.
• Three (3) + years of experience in telecommunications, broadband, wireless, fiber, or network infrastructure deployment.
• Experience with Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) deployments and grant-funded programs like BEAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mobilization, deployment, and execution of Fixed Wireless Access broadband expansion initiatives.
• Develop and maintain integrated execution plans, schedules, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
• Establish governance processes, status reporting, issue escalation, and executive communications.
• Coordinate execution activities across internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
• Ensure network expansion initiatives are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time and within budget.
• Drive milestones, deliverables, and deployment outcomes across multiple workstreams.
• Translate approved designs into executable deployment plans with Network Planning and Engineering.
• Coordinate with Operations, Service Delivery, and Customer Care for readiness.
• Support budget tracking, forecasting, vendor management, and capital execution with Finance/Procurement.
• Support BEAD and other grant-funded deployments and continuous improvement efforts.
