Job summary

Sevita is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to design and deliver training programs for staff serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include curriculum development, multi-modal instruction, and collaboration with HR for onboarding and policy updates.

The role emphasizes client-specific and clinical training, ongoing program assessment, and staying current with industry trends to enhance staff performance and care quality.

Qualifications

• One year of training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain course curriculum.
• Confer with management and staff to identify skill gaps, training objectives, and policy changes.
• Design, create, and update training aids such as manuals and visuals.
• Deliver instruction using multiple modalities including one-on-one, classroom, teleconferencing, and e-learning.
• Confer with management, internal training consultants, and HR to identify additional training needs for new staff.
• Ensure ongoing feedback of training programs and modify as needed.
• Prepare and facilitate client-specific and clinical training in addition to new hire orientation, CPR, and medical administration.
• Provide input regarding procedures and practices pertaining to agency training.
• Maintain current knowledge of organizational trends and make recommendations for updates.

Training and Development Specialist

• Develop and maintain course curriculum
• Confer with management and staff to identify specific skill/knowledge gaps, training objectives, work situations, and changes in policies and procedures
• Design, create, and update training aids, such as manuals, handouts, course exercises, and visual aids
• Deliver instruction using multiple modalities including one-on-one, classroom, teleconferencing, web-based training, and computer-based training
• Confer with management, internal training consultants, and HR to identify additional training needs, as required for new staff
• Ensure ongoing feedback of training programs and modify programs as needed
• Prepare and facilitate client-specific and clinical type training in addition to new hire orientation, CPR, and medical administration
• Provide input regarding the formulation and modification of procedures and practices pertaining to agency training
• Maintain current knowledge of organizational and industrial trends and make appropriate recommendations for new or updated training programs

Qualifications

• One year of training experience preferred
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required by state
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills to manage relationships
