Job summary

Sevita, a leading provider of home and community-based health care, seeks a Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver to support individuals in living skills and daily activities in residential and community settings.

You will collaborate with clinical staff to implement therapeutic plans, supervise activities, and help individuals participate in outings and transportation when needed. This role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and strong communication to improve the lives of those served.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months to one year of experience in human services.
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residence for at least 1 year and good driving record.
  • Must be minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Successful clearance of background checks.
  • A caring attitude with a dedication to assisting others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, assistance and supervision to individuals in living skills, therapy and other support in residential and community settings.
  • Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning and medication administration.
  • Facilitate relationships between employers and individuals served; support community outings or transportation to work or activities.
  • Work closely with clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans.

Job description

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends.

We offer paid training for Certified Registered Medication Aide and Direct Support Professional certifications.

Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver

  • Facilitate the working relationships between employers and individuals served, and support community involvement by accompanying them on outings, or providing transportation to work or other activities.
  • Work closely with our clinical staff to support the therapeutic and behavioral plans in place.
