Job summary

AutoZone is seeking a Manager in Training (MIT) to develop leadership skills and drive exceptional customer service within store operations. You will receive hands-on assignments, structured learning, and the potential for promotion to Retail Store Management within 8–12 weeks based on performance and prior experience.

The role emphasizes leadership development, effective communication with staff and customers, and hands-on experience in merchandise, inventory, and profitability strategies.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
• Full-time availability with flexible schedule (mornings, nights, weekends, overtime as needed).
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, strong communication in both languages.
• Experience in automotive retail or analyzing company financials (P&L) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and deliver WOW! customer service while maintaining store execution and performance.
• Communicate clearly with employees and customers to drive store results.
• Learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly P&L statements to optimize profitability.
• Support store operations, ensure policy compliance, and uphold training processes.
• Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training to develop a strong team.
• Oversee customer service activities and resolve concerns proactively.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success.
• Complete management skills training and learn key store operations.
