Job summary

Canteen is hiring for an Operations Manager in Training (MIT) in Fremont, CA. This role prepares you for a future leadership position within the operations team, with hands-on onboarding and exposure to branch operations, logistics, inventory, safety, payroll, and P&L management.

As an MIT, you will train on-site, work with operational leaders, and develop skills to drive exceptional client service and teamwork across functions. Strong emphasis on field time and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years out from college/university required or related internship
• Must be 0-5 years out from college/university
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Hospitality, or a related field
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to manage client relationships

Responsibilities

• Learn the day-to-day responsibilities of an Operations Service Manager (OSM) and oversee drivers and route performance
• Spend most time in the field supporting frontline operations and customer locations
• Lead teams, set expectations, coach employees, and hold team members accountable
• Develop relationships across operations and support functions to drive results
• Identify operational challenges and implement proactive solutions
• Learn best practices to improve service quality and efficiency
• Support inventory management, merchandising, and pantry replenishment
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
• Participate in safety programs and ensure compliance with policies
• Analyze operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities
• Build client relationships by delivering high levels of service
• Gain financial acumen through budgeting, labor management, and P&L accountability
