Job summary

MODULE X SOLUTIONS, a rapidly growing manufacturer in Shreveport, is seeking a painter to coat equipment, buildings, and structures. The role requires at least 1 year of painting experience in a manufacturing setting and a high school diploma or GED.

You will prepare surfaces, apply primers and finishes, and help estimate material usage for work orders. Candidates should be comfortable on ladders or scaffolding, able to mix colors, and follow work orders closely in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of painting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and cleaning as needed.
  • Apply primers and sealers to new surfaces.
  • Paint equipment, buildings, or structures with brushes, rollers or spray equipment.
  • Estimate material quantities and costs from surface measurements or work orders.
  • Read work orders or follow management instructions to determine requirements.
  • Set up ladders or scaffolding for elevated work.
  • Mix colors with thinning additives to achieve desired finishes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

HOURS

Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Initial training will be conducted on day shift for approximately 1–2 weeks from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Upon transition to second shift, a $2.00/hour shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate.

JOB SUMMARY

Painting equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using spray guns, brushes, and rollers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Remove old paint to prepare surface [if applicable] to prepare surfaces prior to painting
  • Apply primers and sealers to prepare new surfaces for finishing coats
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers
  • Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements or work orders
  • Read work orders or receive instructions from management to determine work order requirements
  • Erect scaffolding or swing gates, or set up ladders, to work in elevated positions
  • Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil or thinning and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience: 1+ years of experience with painting in a manufacturing environment

Education: Highschool diploma/ GED or equivalent

RELATED EXPERIENCE
  • Proficient with hand and power tools

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; keep up in a fast-paced
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
