Job summary

Southern Nuclear in Waynesboro, GA, seeks candidates for the Shift Support Supervisor In Training at Vogtle 1&2. The role provides plant familiarization, completes NRC license class, and prepares for license attainment by mastering reactor operation fundamentals.

Upon license completion, you will direct shift personnel, coordinate plant systems, and maintain required qualifications, including Fire Brigade duties and Fitness-for-Duty participation, while working rotating 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related sciences.
• 1+ years as an active reactor operator at Vogtle Unit 1 or 2, or active reactor operator or senior reactor operator at a Westinghouse PWR facility.
• 1.5+ years as an active reactor operator or senior reactor operator at a non‑comparable commercial power reactor.
• 2+ years in a position equivalent to a Reactor Operator at a military reactor may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Direct operating shift personnel in the performance of plant duties.
• Stand watch on rotating 12-hour shifts.
• Coordinate and direct operation of the nuclear power plant's systems.
• Maintain Fire Brigade qualifications and Fitness-for-Duty requirements.
• Complete required training for NRC license class and obtain NRC Operating License.
