Job summary

Buona is seeking a General Management in Training (GMIT) role based in Darien, IL, designed to develop future General Managers. The program offers a pathway to deeper ownership, a profit-sharing opportunity, and long-term leadership within the Buona organization.

Responsibilities include achieving sales targets, managing budgets and expenses, and developing a high-performing team through formal training programs and quarterly reviews.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead 10+ team members per shift.
• Experience with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant practices, concepts, procedures.
• Strong administrative, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets.
• Recognize revenue areas & development strategies to impact sales.
• Enforce and execute advertising and marketing plans, and HR and training materials.
• Manage and control direct expenses.
• Direct labor, food cost variances, repairs and maintenance, discounts, and other direct expenses.
• Selection, retention, supervision, and training of all employees.
• Conduct quarterly reviews.
• Adhere to established training programs.
• Determine advancement/termination.
• Develop employees into shift managers.
• Provide guidance to our talented & motivated team and lead them toward success.
