Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Mechanical Intern to work with architects and engineers on energy-efficient buildings and HVAC systems. You will learn hands-on design, calculations, and reporting while contributing to sustainable projects that shape communities and address climate goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration in multidisciplinary teams, learning BIM workflows, and developing technical communication. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering preferred; however, candidates pursuing related engineering degrees such as Civil, Environmental or Sanitary Engineering are encouraged to apply.
• Coursework in mechanical/HVAC design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, a plus.
• Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner.
