Job summary

Helion Energy in Everett, WA is seeking a senior engineering leader to advance our fusion research and development program. You will grow and guide a high-performance team, own critical experiments, and help deliver the world’s first fusion power plant.

This onsite role reports to the Senior R&D Manager and is based in Everett, WA. This position emphasizes cross-disciplinary leadership, hands-on diagnostics, and rapid problem-solving to push pulsed-fusion technologies from concept to operation,

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in engineering with leadership experience
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams with full project ownership
• Experience designing, building, and operating complex experiments with diagnostics

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and scientists in fusion tech R&D
• Grow and mentor a high-performance team
• Drive schedule ownership and milestone achievement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements
• Oversee high-energy plasma experiments and diagnostics
• Educate on large vacuum systems and measurement of fields and plasma properties
• Mentor operators to use critical reasoning for solutions
