Job summary

Third Way seeks a Senior Policy Advisor for Fusion Energy to educate policymakers and stakeholders on fusion commercialization. You will lead day-to-day policy development, draft high-impact materials, and engage with federal agencies, Congress, industry, and researchers to advance a practical fusion agenda.

You will oversee research, coordinate with the CEP team, manage fellows and grants, and represent Third Way in public events and media to explain progress toward affordable, secure, clean

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant public policy or science field.
• 3–5 years of direct work experience in energy policy.
• Experience working with Capitol Hill and relevant federal agencies.

Responsibilities

• Conceiving of and authoring high-impact memos, reports, and digital products that educate target audiences on fusion and its path to commercialization.
• Overseeing original-source research and quantitative analysis to show where federal support is needed.
• Spearheading outreach to policymakers and stakeholders.
• Serving as a Third Way liaison on fusion energy to energy policy NGOs, industry, and academics.
• Analyzing proposed policy ideas and developing Third Way's fusion policy agenda.
• Speaking to the media and at public events to disseminate Third Way's work.
• Managing the work of Third Way’s fellows, consultants, coalitions, and councils.
• Overseeing fulfillment of fusion-related grant obligations.
