Job summary

Big Lots in Weslaco, TX is seeking a dedicated leader to manage the furniture department. You will drive sales, oversee merchandising, training, and customer service to ensure a premier shopping experience.

Responsibilities include coaching the furniture sales team, coordinating inventory, pricing, displays, and events, and serving as Manager on Duty as needed to uphold store standards and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
• Demonstrated furniture merchandising and sales skills preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Availability for a variable schedule including nights weekends holidays.
• Basic English literacy, math and PC skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the furniture department's sales and operations.
• Provide clear direction and coaching to the furniture sales team.
• Offer feedback to store leadership on team performance.
• Assist customers with product selection and delivery programs.
• Manage the price hold process and weekly audits.
• Maintain furniture department inventory and cycle counts.
• Identify display needs to meet merchandising standards.
• Plan coverage for events and peak periods.
• Improve sales, signage, recovery, and cleanliness in the department.
• Serve as Manager on Duty to lead store and customer experience.
• Assist with store-wide recovery when needed.
