Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Furniture Technician to join our Tracy, CA team. This role focuses on wood and upholstery repairs, color matching, and finishing to vendor specifications in a fast-paced distribution environment.

You will perform top-surface repairs, sealers and spray finishes, and work with colleagues to maintain schedule and quality. A high school diploma and at least one year of furniture repair experience are required, along with attention to detail and

  • Upholstery and wood repairs including burn-ins.
  • Positive attitude with strong work ethic.
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivating individual able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Dependable and deadline oriented with ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent attendance, communication skills, and willingness to be a part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wood and upholstery repairs including burn-ins.
  • Repair on top surface (larger than ½ inch).
  • Color match on top surface.
  • Proper applications of sealers and top coats.
  • Polishing top coat to vendor specifications.
  • Cross grain scratches burn in and rubbed out.
  • Proper application of finishes using spray gun.

The Quality Assurance Furniture Technician position is located in Tracy, CA.

You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will:
  • Able to perform wood and upholstery repairs including burn-ins, wood raining and clear finish.
  • Repair on top surface (larger than ½ inch).
  • Color match on top surface.
  • Proper applications of sealers and top coats.
  • Polishing top coat to vendor specifications.
  • Cross grain scratches burn in and rubbed out.
  • Proper application of finishes using spray gun.

  • Furniture repair skill assessment testing will be required as part of interview process.
We prefer some of these qualities as well:
  • Previous experience with painting, wood assembly, wood repair, and/or similar craftsmanship.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and fast learner.
  • Availability to work full time schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to be part of a team.
  • Furniture repair skills assessment testing may be required as part of the interview process.

  • Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials for up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable walking, standing 90% of the day.
