Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Furniture Repair Technician in Taunton, MA, to inspect and repair upholstery and furniture, ensuring quality before delivery.

This onsite, in-office role requires attention to detail, finishes knowledge, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years’ experience in furniture assembly and can perform complex repairs, color matching, and finish applications while maintaining safety and efficiency in a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ previous experience in furniture assembly.
• This is an onsite and in office role.
• Ability to multitask and be extremely detailed in identifying errors and imperfections.

Responsibilities

• Ensure complete thorough inspection of upholstery and furniture repairs including burns-ins, wood raining and clear finish.
• Performs repairs to ensure quality assurance for the next day’s home deliveries
• Color match on top surface
• Proper applications of sealers and topcoats
• Polishing topcoat to vendor specifications
• Cross grain scratches burn in and rub out
• Proper application of finishes using spray gun
• Minor to more complex repair of damage / defects in order to meet standards ( e.g. , wood repair , touch up , burn in, fill sticks, etc.)

The Furniture Repair Technicianposition is located in Taunton, MA.

• Paint and finish color-matching for wood products, using lacquers for flat to high gloss finishes
• Inventory and organize all shop tools and repair materials / supplies
• Perform work safely and contribute to a professional environment
• Assemble/deluxe furniture and stage prior to delivery as needed

We prefer some of these qualities as well….

• Previous experience with painting, wood assembly, wood repair, and/or similar craftsmanship
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to work under pressure and fast learner
• Availability to work full time schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays
• Willingness to be part of a team
• Furniture repair skills assessment testing may be required as part of the interview process
