Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Houston, TX is seeking a mid-level Interior Designer to join our interdisciplinary group delivering interior design, architecture and building engineering services.

You will translate client needs into cohesive interior design solutions for contract furniture, develop space plans and specs using Revit, manage bidding and installation, and collaborate with project teams to deliver sustainable, high-quality projects. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field is required.
• Licensed or pursuing Interior Design Licensure is preferred.
• Portfolio required.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience is preferred (may be a combination of work experience and furniture industry experience).

Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact during furniture design phase, both internally and externally.
• Lead client programming, budgeting, scheduling, concept development and presenting design solutions for approval.
• Develop space plans, furniture specifications, construction documents and RFP packages using Revit and firm standards.
• Manage bidding, procurement, delivery and installation, ensuring successful project completion and client occupancy.
• Support clients in developing their office, space and furniture standards.
• Coordinate with clients move managers.
• Able to travel and participate in full day(s) of installation.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects at various stages of design.
• Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design, through the lens of sustainable practices.
