Job summary

Continua Interiors is seeking a design professional to lead furniture design development and detailed drawings for commercial projects in the United States. You will handle specs, pricing, and installation packages, collaborating with vendors and clients.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong communication, and multi-project management, with local travel required to client sites and showrooms. A team-oriented culture is highlighted along with growth and mentorship in a dynamic studio.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience.
• Ability to travel locally to job sites for on-site assessments and in-person meetings.
• Strong knowledge of interior commercial construction, architecture, design, real estate, and contract furnishings.
• Experience with Herman Miller and Knoll products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CET, CAP, Bluebeam, and MS Office; willingness to learn new systems.
• Maintain relevant industry certifications.
• Ability to build and nurture relationships with vendors and industry partners.
• Skill in translating design concepts into accurate drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct furniture needs analysis to define requirements for implementing designs.
• Develop innovative solutions that add value and enhance product application techniques.
• Prepare and run design meetings with industry partners and end users.
• Generate custom products, COM testing, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Create final furniture specs and pricing.
• Create installation drawing packages.
• Coordinate with AV, plumbing, data, and electrical vendors for seamless layouts.
• Site visits and field verifications for accurate assessments.
• Perform spec checks and cross-verify work for quality.
• Maintain organized email communications and drawings for easy retrieval.
• Convey ideas through detailed drawings and spec books.
