Job summary

Continua Interiors seeks an experienced interior designer to join our Midwest team. You will translate design concepts into accurate drawings and specifications, collaborating with clients, vendors, and partners to deliver high-quality commercial spaces.

With 3+ years in the field and a Bachelor’s in interior design, you will manage projects from analysis through installation, coordinate with AV/plumbing/data/electrical teams, and mentor junior designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design or equivalent.
• 3+ years of industry experience.
• Ability to travel locally to job sites for on-site assessments and meetings.
• Strong knowledge of interior commercial construction, architecture, design, real estate, and contract furnishings.
• In-depth product knowledge and application, including Herman Miller and Knoll products.
• Experience presenting to clients, preferably alongside salespeople.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conveys ideas effectively through well-crafted detailed drawings, and comprehensive spec books, presenting them in a thoughtful manner.
• Mentors and supports other designers, providing guidance and fostering their professional growth and development.

What You Should Have

• 3+ years of industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in interior design or equivalent.
• Ability to travel locally to job sites for on‑site assessments and in‑person customer meetings
• Strong knowledge of interior commercial construction, architecture, design, real estate, and contract furnishings.
• In‑depth product knowledge and application, including experience with Herman Miller and Knoll products.
• Experience presenting to clients, preferably alongside salespeople.
• Furniture dealership experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Skills in translating design concepts into accurate drawings and specifications.
• Capability to assess architectural field conditions and understanding building system interfaces with furniture.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CET, CAP, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and commercial furniture industry software; willingness to learn new systems.
• Maintain relevant industry certifications.
• Ability to build and nurture relationships with vendors and industry partners.
• Confidence and independence in progressing through the design process with minimal guidance.
• Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop. The employee may occasionally lift and /or move up to 20 pounds. This position may require travel between offices, jobsites, and/or client locations, which may involve extended periods of sitting or standing, lifting light luggage, and adapting to different time zones.

Compensation And Benefits

The hiring compensation range for this position is an annual base salary of $66,000 - $78,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and location, as well as internal equity and market considerations.

Hours

This is a full-time position. Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday unless otherwise noted.
