Job summary

Adecco seeks a Commercial Furniture Designer / Specifier in New York to drive workplace concepts from concept through installation. Collaborate with account executives, PMs, architects, interior designers, clients, and manufacturers to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities include 2D/3D plans, space planning, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Office schedule is Mon-Thu in office, Fri telework; salary up to $100k depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 3+ years in commercial furniture design or workplace planning.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, CET, CAP 2020, and DWG-based design tools.
• Familiarity with MillerKnoll and contract furniture products.

We are seeking a talented Commercial Furniture Designer / Specifier to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering exceptional workplace solutions for a diverse client portfolio.

• Up to $100k salary based on experience
• Monday through Thursday in office, Fridays remote

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with Account Executives, Project Managers, Architects, Interior Designers, clients, and leading furniture manufacturers to bring workplace concepts to life from initial design through final installation.

What You'll Do

• Partner with sales, estimating, and project management teams to develop comprehensive furniture solutions
• Create detailed 2D and 3D furniture plans, renderings, specifications, and typicals
• Design and space plan commercial work environments in accordance with industry standards and building codes
• Manage projects from initial programming and design development through order entry and installation
• Coordinate with architects and interior designers regarding dimensions, electrical requirements, and workplace specifications
• Collaborate with manufacturer partners on finishes, pricing, custom solutions, and product selections
• Apply value engineering strategies when appropriate to meet client objectives and budgets
• Stay current on industry trends, workplace design innovations, and product offerings
• Deliver accurate work while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
• Provide exceptional service and communication throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
• 3+ years of commercial furniture design, specification, or workplace planning experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, CET, CAP 2020, and DWG-based design platforms
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Familiarity with contract furniture manufacturers and industry products; MillerKnoll experience is highly preferred
• Understanding of workplace planning, commercial furniture systems, and industry standards
• Excellent organizational, communication, and client service skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
