Job summary

Johns Manville is hiring a Furnace Superintendent to lead two furnace production lines in a 24/7 Etowah, TN facility. You will oversee manufacturing operations, ensure quality control, and manage raw material handling while fostering a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.

Lead a union workforce, guide training and performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement with a data-driven approach. Strong planning, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, engineering or relevant field and 5+ years of operational leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience leading a unionized or large hourly workforce is preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting, labor management and material controls.
• Equivalents in education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee two furnace production lines in a 24/7 operation, ensuring safety, quality and productivity.
• Lead training, performance management and labor relations for ~150 employees.
• Drive continuous improvement, corrective actions and root-cause investigations.
• Communicate facility goals and coordinate with plant leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize production planning and asset utilization.
