5PM - 5AM or 5AM - 5PM, 12 hours shifts; rotates between Week 1 and Week 2
Week 1: works Mon & Tues, off Wed & Thurs, works Fri, Sat
Week 2: off Mon & Tues, works Wed & Thurs, off Fri, Sat, works Sun

The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners manufactured by MNP. This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable.
Maintain furnace controls to meet specified requirements of the process
Mechanically inclined
Inspect parts before and after the heat-treating operation for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuity
Read and record computer controls such as the carbon controller to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintained
Document parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as needed
Maintain required documentation of inspections and follow lot tracing protocols
Participate in 5S housekeeping
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Previous heat treat experience
Self-motivated; able to work without constant supervision
Excellent work ethics: dependable, reliable, follows established procedures
Possesses basic computer skills
Able to work in a team environment; gets along with others
Able to read work and understand work instructions, blue prints, technical documents and customer requirements
Able to do math calculations and work with numbers, fractions, and decimals
Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing

Able and willing to wear the required protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and MNP
Able to commit to perfect attendance during the training schedule
Able to work in hot, oily, and noisy conditions
Able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the day
