Job summary

Twin City Die Castings Company is seeking a Furnace Operator to operate or tend furnaces used in melting and refining metal before casting. You will monitor temperatures, adjust fuel and coolant, and ensure safe, efficient production.

Responsibilities include sampling and analyzing materials, transferring molten metal, inspecting equipment, and following environmental, health and safety rules. This role requires strong attention to detail and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draw smelted metal samples and calculate material needs to meet specs.
• Drain, transfer, or remove molten metal using hoists, pumps or ladles.
• Operate controls to move or discharge metal workpieces from furnaces.
• Regulate fuel, air, current and water cooling to control temperatures.
• Inspect furnaces and equipment for defects and wear.
• Remove surface impurities from molten metal with strainers.
• Follow EH&S rules and maintain personal safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
