Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Morgantown, PA is seeking an on-site Furnace Operator to operate and maintain high-vacuum furnaces. You will perform pre-operative checks, monitor melting cycles, load/unload materials, and take samples.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, interpreting gauges, performing preventative maintenance, and using forklifts/cranes. The role requires respirator use, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to work varied shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school preferred.
• 3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to work any schedule, including holidays.
• Forklift and crane experience highly preferred; respirator use may be required.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and read technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain furnaces; perform pre-operative checks and pump-down procedures.
• Load/unload materials, weigh ingots, and perform sampling as directed.
• Set up and operate furnaces for melting; monitor process parameters.
• Maintain records and logs; interpret gauges and video monitors.
• Perform preventative maintenance; replace parts and clean furnaces/crucibles.
• Use forklifts, cranes, and hand tools; wear respirator when required.
