Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Morgantown, PA is seeking a Melt Operator(VAR) for the 2nd shift to efficiently operate and maintain VAR furnaces and related pre-melt and post-melt equipment. You will interpret instrument readings and perform skilled setup and troubleshooting as required.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with 3 years of relevant experience and preferred forklift/crane operation. Mig/Tig/Stick welding skills are desirable, and respirator use may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; trade school training preferred.
• 3 years experience in a relevant environment preferred.
• Forklift/crane-operating experience highly preferred.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• MIG, TIG, or STICK welding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain VAR furnace(s) and pre/post-melt equipment to meet productivity/quality targets.
• Perform pre-operative checks and start-up procedures per checklists.
• Set up and operate furnaces for melting; inspect electrodes and prepare stubs.
• Maintain records and logs of operations and maintenance.
