Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Furnace / Batch Engineer for our production site in Chester, SC. This full-time role requires operating and maintaining furnace and forehearth systems, ensuring safe, cost-effective production, and driving process improvements.

The candidate should have a degree in ceramic, mechanical, or chemical engineering and relevant furnace experience. The position emphasizes safety, energy management, and collaboration with furnace techs to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ceramic, mechanical, or chemical engineering required.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to operate in high temperature environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient operation of furnace and forehearth; monitor energy usage and optimize input.
• Direct multiple projects, document changes, and maintain process setups.
• Promote safety goals and maintain housekeeping; provide clear instructions to technicians.
• Lead process improvements using SPC and Six Sigma methods to reduce variation.
• Maintain furnace processes, calibrate systems, and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
