S.E. Combined Services of Florida in Austin, TX is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant who will provide clerical and operational support for funeral operations, greet families, answer questions, and help coordinate services and ceremonies.

The role requires compassion, clear communication, and the ability to handle sensitive situations; duties include setting up arrangements, assisting with visitations, driving vehicles, and assisting with office tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn required.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsabilités

• Prepares for services including delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes; ensures care and storage.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law and in keeping with company regulations.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter and scale, stereo/video system.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies.
• Serves as usher and may park cars or perform transportation requirements.
• Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and picking up families.
• Ensures refreshments are available (where allowed by law).
• Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services including set up, dressing remains, delivering family items and flowers.
• Greets and receives client families and / or other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
• Accommodates the needs of the family during a service and/or visitation.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles.
