Job summary

S.E. Combined Services of Florida is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to support funeral operations and assist clients with information and services.

You will prepare for services, handle setup, and perform clerical tasks while delivering compassionate customer service. Responsibilities include coordinating with teams, greeting families, driving to transports when needed, and helping with visitations and ceremonies in a respectful, compliant manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and databases; ability and willingness to learn.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• High level of compassion and integrity; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes; ensures proper care and storage of items.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting remains, or operation of crematory as allowed by law.
• Office duties: answering phones, fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage, scale, and stereo/video system.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies.
• Serves as usher and may park cars or perform transportation duties.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorials, and funeral services: setup and dressing of remains, delivering family items and flowers.
• Greets and receives client families; provides information and assistance.
• Accommodate family needs during service or visitation.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required.
