Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking an organized professional to oversee the accounting function for a funeral home, cemetery, or crematory operation in Santurce, PR. You will manage AR, AP, cash receipts, bank deposits, and reconciliations while supporting HR and daily office tasks.

The role requires at least 2 years of bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or completion of a diploma-training program.
• Two (2) years bookkeeping, general office, clerical accounting, and Accounts Payable experience required.
• Solid working knowledge of computers, typewriter, MS Office, e-mail, internet and basic office equipment.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
• High level of compassion, integrity, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounting functions: AR collections, AP verifications/payments, cash handling, petty cash, reconciliations, and bank deposits.
• Manages office operations: supplies, inventory, order processing, and documentation for contracts and work orders.
• Supports location management and HR processes, including payroll paperwork and new hire orientation.
• Maintains customer records, updates obituaries online, and collaborates with Sales to improve location administration.
• Performs miscellaneous duties and ensures compliance with SOX, DU, IVT trainings, and DSOs.
