Park Lawn is hiring for a funeral service assistant, working under a licensed professional. You will assist families, present service options, and help coordinate memorials and burials. The role emphasizes compassionate client service, attention to detail, and teamwork in a respectful environment.

The position requires a four-year degree or equivalent, enrollment in a Mortuary School, and the ability to pass state/national exams. A valid driver’s license and strong computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent; Mortuary School/Program enrollment is required.
• Ability to pass applicable Board exams (National/State).
• Valid state driver’s license with good record.

Responsibilities

• Assist Funeral Director in consulting with families to plan memorial services.
• Present all merchandising and service options to client families.
• Complete required documents such as obituaries, death certificates, permits, and insurance.
• Coordinate and participate in service arrangements with clergy and organizations.
• Record merchandise selections and contracts in the systems; prepare forms.
• Assist with visitations, scheduling, and transportation as needed.
• Assist with preparation of the deceased under supervision (dressing, casketing).
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and compliance with procedures.
• Demonstrate teamwork, detail orientation, and customer service focus.
