Job summary

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is seeking a Business Development Manager in the Marketing department to support the Funds and Tax practices. The role reports to the Senior Business Development Manager and offers hybrid work in Dallas, New York, or Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will have a background in funds industry, strong client service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, while mentoring colleagues and driving improvements across the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing or related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of people or project management responsibility.
• Prior experience working with transactional advisors.
• Familiarity with AI platforms.
• Strong financial and research capability.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong writing and editing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and implementation of Funds and Tax practice growth strategy.
• Manage pitches, proposals, RFPs, presentations and related research.
• Research and drive client growth opportunities with firm research and market intelligence.
• Maintain and accuracy of the experience database.
• Manage client targeting initiatives.
• Write and maintain marketing collateral, including web content and bios.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development on cross-selling across practices.
• Facilitate internal communications and knowledge sharing.
• Assist with lateral partner integration.
• Respond to industry awards, surveys and directories.
• Monitor market, client and competitor trends and disseminate actionable information.
