Onward Search seeks a Funds Innovation & Knowledge Management Attorney in Chicago, IL for a permanent onsite role. You will develop and curate resources across fund formation, negotiations, and operations to improve consistency and efficiency within the Funds practice.

The role emphasizes drafting, knowledge management, and collaboration with senior attorneys to design processes and implement AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

J.D. degree with active Illinois bar admission.
4+ years of relevant private funds or investment management experience.
Experience with fund formation, investor negotiations, and side letters.
Strong collaboration with senior attorneys on process design and knowledge management initiatives.
Excellent project management, analytical, and drafting skills.

Responsibilities

Create and update reference materials and library resources related to fund formation, negotiations, and operations.
Refresh and maintain model legal documents, templates, and checklists for fund and secondary transactions.
Standardize workflows for key fund processes to ensure consistency across fund activities.
Identify and pilot AI and legal technology solutions to enhance document generation and compliance workflows.
Lead the adoption of new tools by developing training materials, tracking usage, and reporting on outcomes.
