Job summary

The San Diego Tourism Authority is seeking a Development Manager in San Diego, CA to lead sponsorships, philanthropy, and grant initiatives within Marketing Partnerships. You will manage a portfolio of sponsors, donors, and funders, ensuring fulfillment of commitments and revenue growth while collaborating with internal teams.

Ideal candidates have a strong fundraising track record, experience with grant writing, and the ability to develop funding opportunities that align with SDTA priorities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fundraising, partnership development, grant writing, or related field required.
• Proven track record of securing donations or grants of $50,000+.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for proposals and reports.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Achieve annual revenue goals through sponsorships, philanthropy, grants, and partnerships.
• Manage and grow portfolios of sponsors, donors, foundations, and funders.
• Develop cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal strategies.
• Prepare funding opportunities, sponsorship packages, proposals, and reports.
• Identify and develop new revenue opportunities, including earned-income strategies.
• Manage grant reporting, compliance, and funder communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather data for proposals and reports.
• Maintain accurate records of donor and sponsorship activity in CRM.
