Job summary

Plant It Forward in Houston seeks a Development & Partnerships Manager to expand fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement. You will build relationships with foundations, corporations, and government agencies, coordinate communications, and grow the organization’s visibility across the Houston region.

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll work with Farm Programs, Food Hub Operations, and leadership to cultivate partnerships, strengthen donor engagement, and position Plant It Forward as a

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.
• Grant writing and donor cultivation experience required.
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects with competing deadlines.
• Experience with website management, fundraising software, CRM, email marketing, and social media preferred.
• Excellent writing skills with ability to translate impact into grant proposals and reports.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and coordinate grant proposals, sponsorship requests, reports, and donor communications.
• Maintain the grants calendar, fundraising pipeline, reporting schedule, and donor stewardship activities.
• Support annual fundraising campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, donor cultivation, and events.
• Track fundraising performance and prepare reports for leadership and funders.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with foundations, corporations, schools, government agencies, and community partners.
• Represent Plant It Forward at community meetings, conferences, and partnership opportunities.
• Coordinate volunteer groups, farm tours, educational visits, donor experiences, and events.
• Gather farmer stories, photography, and impact data to strengthen fundraising and communications.
• Maintain and improve external communications branding and messaging.
