Job summary

The American Academy of Neurology is seeking a Fundraising Operations Manager to strengthen the organization’s operational base for fundraising growth. You will build and manage systems, campaign support, and donor stewardship, partnering with Development, data, CRM, and analytics to drive performance.

Based in Minneapolis, MN, this hybrid role requires collaboration across teams, travel up to 10%, and occasional evenings/weekends to support fundraising initiatives and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications/marketing, nonprofit/public administration, fundraising or philanthropic studies or related area required.
  • Minimum 5 years of operations management experience in fundraising or philanthropy, preferably in healthcare or mission-driven orgs.
  • Experience with CRM implementation, workflow automation, reporting and analytics; strong collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage systems and processes to support fundraising programs and campaigns.
  • Serve as a cross-functional facilitator between Development, Data & Information, prospect research, CRM, campaign execution, and donor stewardship.
  • Translate fundraising strategy into scalable operations, dashboards, and analytics for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster collaborative relationships and drive growth through operational excellence.

What you'll do.

The Fundraising Operations Manager plays a critical role in building and strengthening the operational foundation needed to grow the organization's fundraising program. This internally facing role builds and manages all of the necessary systems, fundraising and campaign support for the organization's mission to fund neuroscience research, with an initial focus on research and public education. Serving as a trusted internal partner and cross‑functional facilitator, this role connects Development with teams across data and information, prospect research, CRM, campaign execution, reporting, analytics, and donor stewardship to ensure the organization has the insight, structure, and operational support needed to drive meaningful fundraising growth.

What we look for.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications/marketing, nonprofit/public administration, fundraising or philanthropic studies or related area required
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of operations management experience in fundraising, advancement, or philanthropy ideally within healthcare, academic medicine, research, association or mission‑driven organizations.
  • Strong desire and proven ability to operationalize fundraising strategy through intentional and ongoing collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success building effective fundraising operations, including CRM implementation, workflow automation, reporting and analytics.
  • Exceptional collaborator, with experience working across organizational disciplines with long‑term relationships and results in mind.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in an emerging function with limited initial resources.
  • Experience in inaugural or start‑up fundraising functions is preferred.
  • Experience in Donor CRM implementation leadership is preferred.

Relevant education and/or experience exceeding the required qualifications may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.

Travel Requirements: Some travel required—up to 10%. Ability to legally travel outside of the United States is required.

Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as hybrid (required to work in the office with the ability to work remotely part of the week).

Schedule: Some evening and weekends required.
