NMDP Foundation seeks a Senior Manager, Marketing to lead integrated fundraising and engagement campaigns that grow benefactor support and strengthen the Foundation’s brand. You will manage a team, drive data-driven strategies, and partner with leadership to optimize impact across audiences.

The Senior Manager, Marketing position will serve as the leader and strategic marketing partner for the NMDP Foundation, responsible for advancing philanthropic growth and deepening benefactor engagement in support of the Foundation's mission. This role will lead a team of individual contributors to develop and execute integrated marketing for fundraising and engagement campaigns that inspire giving, as well as acquire and retain benefactors and elevate NMDP's brand across diverse audiences. This role is accountable for delivering data-driven marketing strategies that strengthens the acquisition of new benefactors and renews and retains previous benefactors. This role will report to the Vice President, Marketing.

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Marketing position will serve as the leader and strategic marketing partner for the NMDP Foundation, responsible for advancing philanthropic growth and deepening benefactor engagement in support of the Foundation's mission. This role will lead a team of individual contributors to develop and execute integrated marketing for fundraising and engagement campaigns that inspire giving, as well as acquire and retain benefactors and elevate NMDP's brand across diverse audiences. This role is accountable for delivering data-driven marketing strategies that strengthens the acquisition of new benefactors and renews and retains previous benefactors. This role will report to the Vice President, Marketing.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the team in developing and executing marketing strategies that directly contribute to the Foundation's annual fundraising revenue targets, including benefactor acquisition, retention and campaigns across all giving levels.
  • Serve as the primary marketing liaison to the NMDP Foundation, providing strategic counsel and tactical support to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and team.
  • Build strategic communications plans aligned to the Foundation's business strategies and lead coordinated executions across direct reports and marketing team.
  • Guide the marketing team in translating philanthropic goals into a meaningful case for support that is executed through compelling always-on and milestone campaign moments marketing campaigns that resonate with key benefactor audiences and inspire philanthropic support.
  • Establish and oversee marketing performance metrics tied to fundraising outcomes, holding the team accountable for cost per acquisition, benefactor conversion rates and campaign ROI.
  • Ensure the team builds and maintains productive cross-functional relationships to align marketing efforts with Foundation and organizational priorities.
  • Responsible for marketing fundraising targets, budgets and resource allocation, ensuring the team optimizes spend toward highest-impact fundraising initiatives.
  • Leverage testing frameworks and measurement practices, ensuring the team continuously optimizes campaign performance and shares learnings across the organization.
  • Serve valiantly as a leader in the marketing function to achieve business and organization success.
  • Advance the organization through innovative ideas.
  • Grow the collective marketing talent by serving as a leader who exemplifies organizational values, builds a healthy team culture and emphasizes professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Fundraising and benefactor engagement marketing, including annual fundraising planning, benefactor acquisition and retention strategies, campaign and case for support development, performance management and leveraging data insights to drive philanthropic growth.
  • Building integrated fundraising and engagement strategies in complex, matrixed environments, aligning marketing, philanthropy, volunteer engagement and mission-focused objectives.
  • Benefactor segmentation, with experience developing audience-specific engagement, stewardship, cultivation and solicitation strategies for diverse philanthropic audiences.
  • Fundraising content and asset development, including campaign strategy, messaging, creative briefing, storytelling, benefactor communications and production oversight to inspire philanthropy and deepen engagement.
  • Use of AI and automation within a marketing and philanthropic function.
  • Talent development and team leadership.

  • Must be able to work onsite at our Minneapolis based World Headquarters at least once a month with some weekly meeting requirement at times.
Education And/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communication (4 years of directly relevant experience will be considered as a substitute for degree); master’s degree preferred.
  • Seven (7) or more years of marketing experience with a demonstrated ability to create robust marketing plans in support of a business, develop communications strategies and manage multiple partners.
  • Three (3) or more years of management experience, with proven leadership of direct reports
  • Three (3) or more years of fundraising / philanthropic marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication and influence skills.
