In this role, the Regional Fundraising & Development Director will be responsible for leading the new partnership pipeline in our East coast region with a focus on engaging funders across private/public foundation, corporate foundation/CSR and government funders.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growing contributed revenue and meeting fundraising goals and be willing and excited to roll up their sleeves to expand our current donor and sponsor base which will enable Fresh Films to grow our mission to train and place more students into a college and career pathway.Who We Are: Fresh Films creates award-winning films, TV shows and documentaries while training youth and young adults in all aspects of production. Our year-round program + on-set experiences like "Filmmakers Lab" with Reese Witherspoon engages historically marginalized youth in building skills, confidence and connections to become a pipeline of talent for rapidly growing high-wage careers in the creative economy. It's about democratizing access, creating opportunity and building economic mobility. Our programs run in 34 locations across the U.S. Fresh Films has program hubs in Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Quad Cities and Southern California - with each hub having 4-7 program sites. - Prospect, identify and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of potential new donors, sponsors and partners to expand funding streams
- Develop high-quality prospecting and outreach templates to engage donors via email and phone outreach, in-person meetings, site visits and other consistent communications
- Present compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the interests and priorities of potential donors
- Attend donor and local events to grow visibility and funding pipelines
- Research new funding opportunities, competitor activities and funding landscapes to inform business development strategies.
- Maintain an active calendar of donor deadlines and work with in-house grants specialist for deadline tracking, donor reporting needs and for CRM moves management
- Track and prepare reports on fundraising progress for CFO & CDO
- Goal is to double the number of donors and contributed revenue in the region, increasing from $1 million to $2 million
- Role is 80% new business, 20% existing business for donor renewals and expansions (the latter is supported by programs, marketing, and development team members)
- Position is supported by an in-house grant writer who writes grant applications for review and by the in-house grants specialist who supports CRM/donor database
- Donors include private, public and corporate foundations, corporate CSR & sponsorship and government entities supporting workforce development, career readiness/pathways, arts education, youth development, equitable opportunities and economic mobility. This position is not focused on individual giving.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising with emphasis on bringing in new contributed revenue of $750,000 of more; should be consistently achieving or exceeding business development targets
- Preferred experience working with donors within Boston, Atlanta or other FF regions
- Passion to uncover and build new donor partnerships
- Strong executive presence and business acumen
- Advanced level verbal and written communication skills strong, phone skills, not afraid to call
- Advanced interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects within fast-paced environment while maintaining a commitment to high quality, detail-oriented work
- Culturally sensitive with a strong passion for the mission of supporting youth and young adults with career opportunities
Compensation
- Base $90,000-$110,000 year
- Full time, 40 hours weekly
- 16 days vacation plus 7 additional days off during holidays + 9 federal holidays

Work Environment:
- Location: You will work from home, but must be based in Boston or Atlanta where Fresh Films works; there are other staffers within FF territory
- Travel is required within territory (local and overnight when appropriate) to meet with prospective donors and to visit program sites; All travel paid for by Fresh Films
- Some evening or weekend work may be required to attend productions or donor events
- Fresh Films uses google-drive; employee will be set up on drive with all needed equipment
- Position reports to the Chief Development Officer and is supported an in-house grant writer who writes grant applications for review and by the in-house grants specialist who supports CRM/donor database
