Job summary

UJA-Federation of New York is seeking a Data Analyst to partner with our Fundraising team to unearth insights and build dynamic dashboards that translate fundraising data into actionable learnings. You will own dashboard development, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to improve how we collect, structure, and share performance metrics across the organization.

You will work across fundraising and analytics, think ahead, and lead data initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data visualization, or business intelligence, focused on fundraising data.
• Experience with Salesforce data is a plus.
• Proficiency in PowerBI and data storytelling for fundraising stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of fundraising KPIs like donor acquisition, retention, ROI.
• SQL expertise for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

Responsibilities

• Build Power BI dashboards showing fundraising results (engagement, conversion, donor growth).
• Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and actionable insights.
• Partner with fundraising staff to determine needs and enable data-driven decisions.

As part of our growing team, we are seeking a Data Analyst to partner with our fundraising team to unearth insights and build dynamic, interactive dashboards that translate fundraising data into actionable learnings. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-savvy professional to play a key role in driving fundraising performance and decision-making across the organization.

We’re hiring a Data Analyst to help our Fundraising team see and understand its data. You will build dashboards and reports that show what’s working, what’s not, and where to focus next. You’ll also improve how we collect, structure, and share performance data.

You will work with people across fundraising and analytics. In this role, you’ll need to think ahead, stay organized, and explain things clearly. You’ll often make sense of needs that aren't fully defined, so you should be comfortable taking the lead and asking good questions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build dashboards: Create and manage Power BI dashboards that show fundraising results—like engagement, conversion, and customer growth.
• Analyze data: Find trends, spot issues, and explain what the data means in simple terms.
• Partner with teams: Work with fundraising staff to learn what they need and help them use data in their decisions.
• Improve systems: Set up tools and workflows that reduce manual work and keep our reports up to date.
• Tell clear stories: Use charts and visuals to help others understand what the numbers show.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data visualization, or business intelligence, with a focus on financial or fundraising data.
• Bonus if you have experience working on Salesforce or with Salesforce data
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data visualization tools, in particular PowerBI.
• Data Analysis: Strong understanding of fundraising KPIs and analytics (e.g., donor acquisition, donor retention, conversion rates, ROI, etc.), with experience in analyzing large datasets to extract insights.
• SQL & Data Manipulation: Expert proficiency with SQL and experience working with fundraising and financial data to gather and manipulate data.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a passion for presenting data accurately and clearly.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketers, analysts, and leadership.

Education

Bachelors in Data Analytics / Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or similar field is required.

Reports To: Manager, Data and Insights

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
