Job summary

Holston Home for Children is seeking a Donor Database Specialist to manage the fundraising database, support modernization efforts, and ensure accurate gift processing and acknowledgments. The role handles confidential donor information and collaborates with Accounting and auditors to maintain data integrity.

The position is on-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, and involves maintaining donor records, running reports, and aiding fundraising campaigns and events as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business or equivalent experience with CRM/database administration.
• Proficient with donor management software and electronic giving systems (Blackbaud preferred).
• Ability to advance systems modernization and design goals.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects using AI.
• Ability to handle confidential donor information with discretion.

Job description

The Donor Database Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the agency’s fundraising efforts by managing and maintaining the fundraising database while advancing system modernization, efficiency, and design initiatives. The position helps ensure gifts are accurately processed and acknowledged, and handles confidential information related to donors and their giving. This is an on-site position, Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm.

• Coordinate donor acknowledgments, including thank-you letters, memorial gift notifications, and honor gift cards.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records related to fund development.
• Enter and maintain donor and supporter information in the donor management system.
• Run reports and queries and analyze data for reporting needs.
• Track gifts and ensure fund development activity is accurately captured and reported.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate existing data processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and support for the agency’s fundraising efforts.
• Work closely with the Accounting Department and annually with auditors to help ensure the integrity of fund development data.
• Maintain current records for churches, pastors, memorials, and honored individuals.
• Maintain appropriate backup information and help ensure the security of fund development data.
• Assist Development staff with mailings, campaign materials, speaking engagements, and fund development events.
• Assist the Administrator of Operations and Vice President of Development with various projects and special assignments.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in business or experience in CRM and database administration.
• Proficient computer skills; experience with donor management software and electronic giving systems is preferred, particularly experience with Blackbaud, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Crystal Reports.
• Ability to advance goals of systems modernization and design.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects using AI.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive donor information with discretion.
• Must be willing to adhere to the agency’s confidentiality agreement.
